Yes. Two people asking for the same subject get different books, because the questions you answer change the plan, the pace, the level of detail and the voice. The settings that produced a book are shown on every public library book, so you can see it for yourself.

They are written by AI, following OnTopic's editorial method. The method is published in full on the method page, including the limits.

The writing is held to well-established facts and is forbidden from inventing names, figures, quotes or events. On contested subjects it presents the competing readings rather than picking one. It can still be wrong: treat a book as a very good briefing, not as an authority, and never as professional advice.

A book can be written in English (US or UK), French or Spanish from the list, or in any other language you type in. The app itself is available in English, French, Spanish and Italian. This website is in English and French for now.

OnTopic runs in any browser, and native apps are in preparation. Payment always happens on this website, never inside the app.

Both are in your account, and neither needs an email to us. Cancelling keeps your access until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the account erases your data.
