Delete your OnTopic account

You can delete your OnTopic account, and the data attached to it, at any time. Here is how, and what happens to your data.

From the app or the website

1. Open the OnTopic app, or app.be-on-topic.com in a browser, and sign in.
2. Go to your Profile, then open Settings at the top of the page.
3. Choose "Delete my account" and confirm with your password (for an account created with Google, by typing your email address).

Cannot sign in?

Write to contact@be-on-topic.com from the address of your account and ask for its deletion. We confirm once it is done, within 30 days at most and usually much sooner.

What is deleted at once

• Your account: name, email address, password, photo and preferences.
• Your books, the answers you gave to create them, and your reading progress.
• Your e-reader addresses and your Dropbox link, your sessions and any pending request.
• An active subscription is cancelled first: you are not charged again.

What is kept, and for how long

• Invoices and payment records required by tax law: about 6 to 7 years, no longer linked to an account in the Service.
• Usage statistics with nothing that identifies you (no name, no email, no topic): up to 12 months.
• Copies of the database used only to restore the Service after an incident: 30 days at most, then gone.
